In fact, that was the very message I received from my senior ministers when I was ordained. I have kept those words in my heart as a message to be remembered always. No matter how difficult things become, the resolve to fulfill the mission received from the Lord until the end must always be renewed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, I offered a new greeting to this beginning pastor: <strong>\u201cWelcome to this honorable ministry.\u201d<\/strong> I wanted him to hear that this ministry is truly joyful, happy, and glorious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Throughout my ministry, I have experienced that glory firsthand. It is because there is power in the Gospel. I have seen many couples on the brink of divorce restored because of the Gospel; I have watched broken relationships between parents and children be healed; and I have seen those in despair and discouragement regain hope through the Gospel. I have witnessed people become happy as they realize they are not alone, but are children beloved by God. I have seen those who lived selfishly and greedily transform into generous and kind people, and those who could not contain their anger learn to consider others and embrace the weak with warm love. Even in the despair of death, I have seen people cling to the hope of the resurrection in Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I wanted to tell this to the young, beginning minister. I wanted to say that this is the reward for our sweat and labor\u2014that ministry is not something to be endured by force through pain and suffering, but is a source of happiness because it contains such immense joy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tragically, the one who told me to \u201cbe faithful unto death\u201d showed all kinds of unseemly behavior in his later years. It was as if he sought the reward for his forced endurance and labor in the material things of this world. He failed to remain faithful until the end.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I hope that I, and every young minister entering this path, will feel every day how precious and happy this ministry is.
